The dance in Europe is well and truly back.
Over the last few weeks, it’s been glorious to see close friends rave once more. From shenanigans at Dekmantel Selectors in Croatia to festivals in the Ukrainian woodlands—partygoers are back in business!
With that in mind, I thought it best to celebrate with a club Phind. This is ‘Get Down’ (Lost.Act Edit) via the Entity London imprint. A brilliant flip of an iconic UK garage record.
I first heard this on tables in my old Amsterdam apartment (shoutouts Wrenn) and have been in love with it ever since. Utilising tasty 2-step rhythms and a famed Myron vocal sample, Russian producer Lost.Act (Alexander Romanov) delivers a remix that nips at your heels. There’s an infectious urgency—demanding folks get up to get down.
Around the three minute mark, the subs duck to the loo and Myron takes centre stage: “Ooo baby…you don’t mess around/ Ooo baby…you don’t mess around”. Tantalising us, Romanov waits a full 60 seconds before reintroducing that lovely liquid bass. Hang around, so you know what I’m banging on about.
Bittersweetly, this 12’’ was released as an ode to the 74 people who lost their lives in the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, with all proceeds going directly to Grenfell charities across West London. With deepest condolences to all those still grieving loved ones as a result of this tragedy.
Dance for those past and present.
