To have producers like Dixon, &Me, Hudson Mohawke and Alan Fitzpatrick in your corner, is no mean feat.
After Eora’s Oliver Henry dropped his tune “Closer” early last year, these dons began playing it out across the world.
Having spent months creating and finetuning more music, Henry has just recently curated his first sold-out event at the institution that is Civic Underground. Alongside him on the lineup were Samatha Loveridge, the Anomaly Radio crew and pillar of the local scene Alex Dowsing.
Today, we’re lucky enough to premiere the live stream of Henry’s set – a journey sprinkled with never before heard edits from the man himself. And by the looks of things, this was one hell of a time at the controls as well as for those on the dancefloor. Interspersed between these unreleased reimaginings, watch him mix in classic cuts from the likes of Mike Dunn, Loco Dice, Funk Cartel and many more.
The 1 hour and 47-minute trip is a testament to Henry’s ability to fascinate clubgoers with lush melodies and euphoric auditory moments. Utilising multiple camera angles, the broadcast really makes you feel like a fly on the wall for this beautiful time at Civic.
Reflecting on what the event meant to him, Henry stated,
“Putting a party on and entering the live arena by playing to dance floors has always been the goal, and I was blown away by the electric energy and support in the room.”
