People often say don’t get into business with family.
German brothers Matteo and Elia Just, AKA Bryda.a, have challenged that statement with their new audiovisual piece, “ZAZA”, featuring Yeti.
Matteo, the partnership’s music producer, fuses Yeti’s German and Turkish bars with an appealing techno breakdown. The track employs laser-like effects and shimmering synths to craft an anxiety-inducing atmosphere—exactly the vibe the two brothers were aiming for in the accompanying music video (directed by Elia Just).
Here, Yeti, a solitary fellow armed only with his BMX and a few cigarettes lingers on rooftops and cruises down foggy streets, perpetually fearful of some unseen enemy. It begs the question, is he really being chased, or is he simply running from himself? A powerful illustration of addiction and the descent into self-destruction.
As Bryda.a, Matteo and Elia explore their deep love of music, video production, art and illustration through the lens of storytelling. And the “ZAZA” clip is an excellent example of this at play.
The song is signed to Fresh Take Records in Edinburgh and is part of Matteo Just’s new six-track EP, Found Sleep. Be sure to give that a run wherever you stream your music.
Until then, settle on Yeti’s shoulder as he navigates a paranoid evening driven by substances and a dwindling sense of self.
