Without it, I might never have discovered French artist Dylan Dylan (Elise) and her sensual breakbeat bundle, What More Do You Want?! (Pont Neuf Records)
The six-track excursion traverses soul-stirring and dance-ready realms, with Elise showcasing her penchant for songwriting. Impressively, each track shines in its own right with expertly designed percussive elements and ’90s synth chords ruling the roost. I’d recommend locking in and playing this wall-to-wall.
Elise has been honing her craft as a producer and DJ for almost two decades, falling in love with electronic music in her hometown of Montpellier, France. As she tells me, “My initial genre crushes were electro-clash/house/Paris culture. Artists like Tiga, Fischerspooner, MCDE, Kerry Chandler and Shonky.”
Having studied classical piano from a young age, Elise quickly learned to create music using software. In 2022, she impressed the powers that be at Shall Not Fade with her first album, Euphoria, and followed that with her second, Love Theory, two years later. Both albums are heavily influenced by the UK’s jungle, breakbeat, garage, and bass scenes.
Over the last few weeks, Elise has been immersed in the studio, crafting her maiden live set and preparing for a series of DJ bookings as the European summer gets underway. If you’re a fan of community online radio, be sure to check out Montpellier’s Piñata Radio, where Elise spins regularly.
“The live set won’t be for the club, as honestly most of my productions are not club material…I see electronic music as a wide playground. There’s a lot to experiment with.”

Amazing house vibe from HDSN, a big fan of his music. Housy piano at its finest, great vocals, with this acid line coming on the second half of the track – it gets me every time! I often use it to lift up the mood and bring some joy during sets.
