We hit it off from our first chance beer under the statue of The David at the Moreland Hotel in Brunswick, in the summer of 2023. Soon, both of us transplanted to East London, a fast, creative simpatico was forged through digging, dancing, and sharing the booth countless times since. This is our first recorded mix together, and as such, we wanted to put together something that is an ode to the city and the music we have both fallen in love with since. We’re very happy to share over 2 hours of London digs that are unabashedly ‘Us’.
Evie Pick: I’ve picked Necessary Love by Tranzit – I sent this to Danny last year, and he immediately bought copies of the reissue for us both. I think I heard it on a mix from London’s favourite Customs and had it on repeat – big 80s mid-tempo soulful vibes and a sick vocal breakdown.
Danny Pick: Insomnio by Trúpita. Fellow Dan and I were the first customers at our mate Josh’s new private record shop, Diet Cola Records in Woolwich. Settling up well after 12 on a school night and a few too many Red Stripe tall boys deep, this 12” caught my eye on the wall, so we chucked in on as a send-home tune. Needless to say, it came home with me instantly. Italy 1985. Say less.
In keeping with this thread of newfound mates, place and bass, we present NIGHT ADDICT
*Recorded live at Danny’s place in Lower Clapton, London (2026)
